Original Photos: When you upload a photo for character creation, the original image is never stored on our servers. It is only used at the moment of character generation and is immediately discarded after processing.
AI-Generated Images: The AI-generated character images are stored for the duration of your account or until you delete them. These images are created using Replicate and are stored to allow you to generate stories featuring your created characters.
Story Content: The stories you create are stored for the duration of your account or until you delete them.
Story Prompts: When you create a story, your prompts and any context you provide (such as character details, themes, or preferences) are sent to our text generation provider, OpenRouter. OpenRouter routes your requests to various AI model providers. Data handling policies vary by the underlying model provider you select. Some providers may retain data for model training purposes unless Zero Data Retention (ZDR) is enabled.
Zero Data Retention (ZDR): Where available, we utilize Zero Data Retention options to minimize data storage. When ZDR is enabled, your prompts are not logged or retained by the model provider beyond the immediate inference process. Not all models support ZDR - check the provider policies on OpenRouter for specific model details.
Data Control: Our text generation provider offers various privacy features including Zero Data Retention (ZDR) available, EU routing support to ensure your data is handled securely.
Generated Stories: The complete stories generated are sent back to our servers and stored for the duration of your account or until you delete them.
Third-Party Model Providers: OpenRouter works with multiple AI model providers, each with their own data handling policies. You can view provider-specific policies at OpenRouter Provider Documentation. We recommend reviewing these policies to understand how your data may be used.
